What Is Laser Resurfacing?
Laser wavelengths are designed to target a specific part of the skin. The Sciton MicrlLaserPeel uses Erbium:YAG to produce a wavelength that targets water. The first water-containing body part it encounters is the epidermis (outermost layer of the skin). The laser energy will heat up the skin cells and destroy them.
The epidermis is approximately 110-120 microns thick, The Sciton MicroLaserPeel can be programmed to target various thickness. The most common is 20 and 40 microns, leaving a more youthful, even and blemish-free complexion.

Laser Hair Removal: Highly controlled flashes of laser beams are selectively absorbed by hair follicles lying below the surface of the skin. The absorbed light heats the hair, which damages and destroys the regrowth potential of the follicle - all without damaging surrounding tissue.
Hair follicles are usually in different growth cycles at different times in relation to one another. Since the follicle must be in active growth in order to be affected by the laser, several treatments spread over several months are required to assure the destruction of all hair follicles.

Laser Tattoo Removal:
Individual factors affect how your tattoo responds to the laser. They are:
Unique Immune System
Some people recover from colds faster than others. That's because everyone's immune system is different and this is a factor during tattoo removal. Your body will break down the pigment at its own individual rate.
Your Skin Tone
Lighter skin tones typically have a higher success rate in laser tattoo removal but many skin types are treatable. Some patient's tattoos are significantly reduced in appearance after the first session.
Types of Colors Used
Black, red, dark orange and dark blue tattoos will usually respond relatively quickly to laser treatments. Green, purple, brown, light orange and light blue may require more visits.
Types of Ink Used
Inks used for tattoos are not regulated so there are many inks out there that affect the skin in different ways. While treatment results will vary, amateur ink generally responds at a faster rate than professional ink.
Depth of Tattoo
A tattoo that is covered by another has more ink and depth in the skin, therefore requiring additional laser treatments. Professional tattoos run deeper in the skin, requiring more treatments than amateur tattoos.
How do I get the best results?
Most patients are thrilled after their initial few treatments, but
as they undergo the middle stages of removal they sometimes
become impatient.
It's important to remember that not every session will have the
same effect. Though the process remains consistent, your
body may react differently from treatment to treatment.
